New London Harbor lighthouse is located in New London, Connecticut on the west side of the New London harbor entrance. New London Harbor lighthouse is the seventh oldest in the United States and both oldest and tallest in the state of Connecticut.

The 64 foot stone lighthouse was built in 1761. By 1799 a rather large crack had developed in the lighthouse and many complaints were made that the light was challenging to differentiate from neighboring homes. A new 89 foot stone lighthouse was built in 1801.

The lighthouse grounds are not open to the public, but the New London Harbor lighthouse can be viewed from land on Pequot Avenue. Ferries leaving New London provide excellent views of the New London Harbor lighthouse.
