Stony Point lighthouse is located at Stony Point Battlefield in Stony Point, New York. Stony Point lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse on the Hudson River, was built in 1826 by Thomas Phillips because of the increased river traffic after the opening of the Erie Canal the year before.

Stony Point lighthouse was decommissioned in 1925 and years later obtained by the parks commission in 1941. Outside renovations were made to the lighthouse in 1986. Then in 1995, the interior was restored and reopened to the public.
